I wanted to reach a 1000+ elo rating on chess.com by my birthday as a sort of present to myself. I managed to reach it within a couple of weeks of my target.
The present wasn’t the rating, it was the lesson I needed to remember to get there. I doubt I can reach 2000, but if I can consistently play at 1500 I’d consider that an achievement.
