Memory prices have gone noticeably down relative to the memory software consumes in the past 5 years; Which is the age of my work-horse of a laptop (a Dell XPS 9700). I opted to upgrade its memory from 32gb to 64gb for only $132USD at the time of writing. By consequence, I also upgraded my home server’s (an Intel NUC 1220p) memory from 16gb to 32gb. Now, if only SSD prices would go lower as well, I could build a SSD NAS to connect to my home server.
