Finally decided to install solar in my house. I ended up with the following configuration:
- 12 pcs. 530-550W solar panels
- 6KW hybrid inverter
- 200AH/10KW LFP battery

Everything costed 280,000PHP (5,000USD). This includes all materials and installation costs. It took 3 days to install and setup everything. The contractor also wired a breaker for net metering which wasn’t included in their original quote.

I do plan to apply for net metering depending on the cost. My primary goal is to have backup power and offset my electric bill. I understand that it’s basically paying my utility bill in advance with added risks; though contrasting it with increasing inflation and power shortages I find it an acceptable undertaking.

If everything works as intended for 5yrs without issues I’d consider it a good investment.
